Description
Hospital-employed, outpatient-only Family Medicine opportunity with no inpatient admitting, hospital rounding, or emergency department coverage. Join an established rural health clinic in Gallup, New Mexico, where there is immediate patient demand and an opportunity to build a meaningful long-term patient panel.
The practice currently expects approximately 24–25 completed visits per day, with 30-minute new-patient visits and 15-minute follow-ups. The patient population is primarily adult, Medicare, and geriatric, with significant chronic-disease needs including diabetes, obesity, hypertension, and cardiovascular disease.
You'll have dedicated office space, designated exam rooms, MA support, onsite hospital resources, Cerner EMR, Dragon dictation, and AI ambient-scribing technology.
Why This Role?
Outpatient Only: No inpatient admitting, hospital rounding, or emergency department coverage.
Call: Approximately 15 days of outpatient phone call in a 1:2 rotation; no hospital call.
Volume: Approximately 24–25 completed visits per day once fully ramped, with meaningful patient demand.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM; a 4.5-day schedule / approximately 36 clinical hours has been discussed and may be available based on final contract terms.
Support: Dedicated MA support, physician office, exam rooms, registration support, and nearby hospital resources.
Technology: Cerner EMR, Dragon dictation, and AI ambient-scribing technology.
Clinical Resources: Immediate access to laboratory, X-ray, emergency, inpatient, and hospitalist services.
Autonomy: Opportunity to build a long-term patient panel and help shape the growth of primary care in the community.
Community: Culturally rich Gallup community with strong outdoor access and proximity to Albuquerque, Flagstaff, and Farmington.

Financial Package
Base Compensation: Targeted at the 75th percentile of 2026 MGMA Western Region data, with a benchmark of approximately $286,827 for the initial compensation period.
Productivity: Work-RVU model with quarterly true-up when production exceeds the established threshold. Leadership believes a motivated physician can exceed $300,000 in the first year based on productivity.
Sign-On / Relocation: Approximately $25,000–$30,000 combined, subject to final organizational approval and contract terms.
PTO / Holidays: Approximately 5–5.5 weeks of combined PTO and holiday time, with six recognized holidays included in the bank.
CME: 5 CME days plus an annual $6,000 CME allowance.

Requirements
- Board-certified or board-eligible Family Medicine physician.
- New Mexico license or ability to obtain.
- Comfortable practicing broad outpatient primary care with clinical independence.
- Ability to manage approximately 24–25 completed visits per day once fully ramped.
- Comfortable caring for a primarily adult, Medicare, and geriatric population.
- Strong interest in chronic disease management, preventive care, and community-based primary care.
- Culturally aware and respectful of Native American and other diverse patient populations.
- Friendly, patient-centered, team-oriented, and willing to build a long-term practice.
- J-1 and H-1B candidates may be considered, subject to organizational and legal review.
